Symposium of Ideas

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make Torbay’s first ever Symposium of Ideas so successful!

Nearly 400 people attended the Ageing Well event, which was held at Central Church, Torquay on Saturday 6th May.

The feedback from the event has been resoundingly positive.

“The Symposium was excellent, very well organised and very enjoyable”

“I would like more of these events with activities so people get together and not feel isolated”

“Time went too quickly. Right now I would rather be dancing than writing!”

The Symposium of Ideas was an idea by the Festival Steering Group, who are all older people, to build on the incredible success of their first festival at Torre Abbey in October 2016.

The Festival Steering group work closely with the Ageing Well Programme Office, Jess Slade, Sophia Sheridan, Matt Saunders and Sue McDermott on promoting positive ageing across Torbay.

Since their first festival at Torre Abbey in October 2016, the Positive Ageing Team have engaged more than 1,700 people through the Festival, Food For Thought engagement work and the Symposium of Ideas.

But they couldn’t do it without your support, so from all involved…

a massive thank you to all of you!
