Wellbeing Co-ordinator

  • Posts available: 1 x 37 hour post
  • Hours: 37
  • Starting salary: £20,500 per annum
  • Holiday entitlement: Starting at 25 days per annum (pro rata for part time employees), plus designated bank holidays.
  • Based: 12 Dendy Road, Paignton, TQ4 5DB

Wellbeing Co-ordinators work with the aim of enabling older people to achieve their aspirations (such as reducing social isolation, solve practical and/or medical problems, etc.) with a wellbeing plan, keeping their wishes at the centre.

Key responsibilities include encouraging self management and care while incorporating relevant community resources, understand and develop the network of said community resources, carry out a guided conversation utilising the toolkit, concerning people’s needs, liaising with family, carers, other involved agencies and members of the MDT health/care teams to ensure the plan is in action, assist agencies in understanding the key philosophy of “what matters to someone”, as opposed to “what is the matter with someone” and undertake necessary training and other duties where appropriate.

  • Said people are treated with respect and value, and aren’t reduced to a label or statistic
  • A boldness and passion for upholding their rights and goals
  • A positive attitude
  • An ability to respectfully and appropriately manage personal data, and ensuring others maintain the same standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular with software such as Microsoft Office
  • Highly self-sufficient, independent and resilient
  • Adaptable and prepared to assist in adaptation of others
  • Understanding of data protection
  • Experience of successfully supervising and mentoring others and influencing people to behave differently
  • Minimum of two years experience in a similar role
