Ageing Well Torbay is a six year project, funded by The Big Lottery to reduce social isolation in the over 50 generation across Torbay.
Ageing Well aims to reconnect communities across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay, so everyone no matter what their age can:
- Celebrate the skills stories and knowledge of people over the age of 50
- Enable themselves and others to feel their lives have value and purpose
- Involve everyone, (themselves, neighbours, friends and family) to make Torbay a positive place where everyone can feel included
- Reconnect people with their friends and communities
- Strengthen the voice of older people
The Ageing Well Torbay project is being delivered by the following organisations:
Age UK, British Red Cross, Brixham Does Care, Carers Trust Phoenix, Mencap, My Support Broker & The Torbay Community Development Trust.

Age UK is a Charity Dedicated To Making Everyone Love Later Life.
Brixham Does Care is a registered befriending charity founded in 1978, which attempts to combat loneliness, isolation and despair. They offer support to people of all ages and client groups in communities.
A social business Community Interest Company, working nationally and bringing together people locally who have expertise, insight and knowledge of care and support and their mission is “making it possible for people with care and support needs to live their best life”.
The Trust empowers communities, building on strengths and skills through Asset-Based Community Development. The overall aim of the Torbay Community Development Trust is to create better communication across the Bay, actively encouraging local involvement and decision making in improving the region, as well as developing and supporting volunteering opportunities of the highest standards.
