Hello, I am the new Community Builder for Shiphay.

Thank you for the warm welcome I have had from those of you I have met in and around Shiphay.

We have lots to look forward to in the coming New Year!

We will be getting our wonderful new “friendship benches” for Kitson and Shiphay Parks. There will be planning meetups in late January for anyone in the local community to come along. To help decide where the benches should be placed, and what to plant in the planters attached. This event will take place in the parks.

Later in the Spring on a Saturday to be confirmed, we will require volunteers to help assemble the friendship benches. Refreshments will be provided and again all are very welcome. Let’s hope the sun will be shining for us!

I will be starting up the exercise classes at Kitson Park in the spring. when our bright and cheerful spring bulbs will be out and as it gets a little warmer.

There will be a new coffee morning starting up in Shiphay on Tuesdays from 11am until 12.30. At the first one, we will be drawing up a “places of interest map” in our community.

This will then be given to a local artist to copy and will be displayed at the Ageing Well festival to represent Shiphay. The festival will take place at the Riviera Centre on Saturday, March 19th 10am/4pm, with lots of interesting and entertaining things going on throughout the day.
